Starting a Website and Making Money Part 1April 28th, 2006This is going to be a 7 part course on how to run your own business online. First, you must have an idea of what you are going to sell either it be a product or a service. Try thinking of what you know and are good at. Say you have a lot of knowledge about cars. Now you must decide whether you are going to sell a car product or just offer advertising on your site about car knowledge. Both are good in their own ways. Know you will need a domain name in order to market and get people to your website. Try to pick something which is short, catchy, and easy to remember. Prefferably a .com domain. Now go to godaddy.com and register it. This is the end of part 1 of how to start a website and make money off of the internet. SoldApril 25th, 2006Finally, after 1 month or hard work and 1 week trying to sell it I sold the site I had been working on. I just posted the site on a couple webmaster forums as usual and within 24 hours had a intrested buyer. After discussing with him he finally paid and it makes me feel happy. I sold the site in the range of $x,xxx. If you would like to know the domain or how to build a site and sell it for more just stay tuned or use the contact form to the right. Until tommorrow.
College DegreeApril 23rd, 2006I have been hearing so many people tell me that you have to go to college to succeed these days! I consider this total bull. I feel if you have the drive to succeed and know about something such as computers you will survive no matter what. Some of the most well off people I know personally did not graduate from college. Just look at Bill Gates or the owner of Dell! So don’t look down on someone who doesn’t graduate from college they just might be smarter than you. Accepting PaymentsApril 21st, 2006One of the biggest problems I have had when trying to buy something off of someones website who is either a) new to selling or b) doesn’t care is that they just dont have enough types of payment choices. When I see payment choices like e-gold and that is my only option it makes me feel like I am being scammed and I move onto a different website. On the other hand if the same website would only use multiple payment processors like paypal,epass,mb,e-gold,check, etc. then folks are much more likely to buy their product or service because it is widely available! Plenty of SpaceApril 19th, 2006One thing I notice among many new people who want to run a business online is thinking they have to come up with some great idea that no one has thought of to be a success and make money. This is totally wrong! For instance imageshack came out a while back and was becoming a huge success. So I bought a domain and begain to advertise it even though there was sites just like it already out there, and you know what? It was a success I had tons of visitors daily to it and their was still more space for others to come along and make their own site. After a few months I sold the site for thousands of dollars and all I had to pay for was the domain name and the script! So go start your dream site now.
Intresting MarketingApril 17th, 2006There are so many ways to market your service or product on the internet. One of the best ways I have found is being active in forums which apply to your company. If your are a regular and people know you and your advertise your product or service in your forum signature it is very likely that people will not only click on it to visit your site but visit your webpage and buy. Some of the best quality traffic I recieve comes from clicks from my forum signatures. So it just proves you should advertise your site everywhere in e-mail, on icq, and on forums!

 Anyhow many webmasters are being scammed by people who claim that they can send you an invite to the beta only publisher network for a price. This is completely not true and anyone trying to sell you a publisher account for yahoo is a scam artist. Just keep this in mind.
